Woolwich Barracks to host Paralympians at 2012 Games

October 15, 2009
By Peter Jones

The Paralympic Archery tournament will take place at the Royal Artillery Barracks at Woolwich during the London Games in 2012.

The venue has confirmed by the London Olympic Games Organising Committee (LOCOC), and it will also host Olympic and Paralympic shooting. The Olympic Delivery Authority will submit the planning application for Woolwich in next few weeks.

The Royal Artillery Barracks is on the edge of Woolwich Common in south east London, close to World Heritage Site of Greenwich Park.

It is easy to get to by mainline train and bus and will be minutes from the new Woolwich Arsenal DLR station, which is due to open in 2009.
