Paralympic gold medalist and world champion Danielle Brown has been nominated for a major national award.
Dani, 21, is included in the final three contenders for this year's Sunday Times Disabled Sportswoman of the Year Award.
It comes in a year where she retained her World Championship title, consolidated her position as the world's top women's Paralympic compound archer with remarkable performances at tournaments around the world, and broke numerous world records. With colleagues Mel Clarke and Pippa Britton, she also retained the World Compound Team title at the World Championships.
She will find out if she has won at an Awards Lunch, being held at The David Beckham Academy in London next month. Clare Strange, of the GB wheelchair basketball team, and Paralympic cyclist Sarah Storey complete the final three, which was selected from a strong list of possible contenders.
"I am really flattered and honoured to be in line for such a prestigious award," said Dani, a third year law student at Leicester University, who also won a gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Beijing last year.
"It proves that people are taking notice of archery, and what is being achieved by the GB Paralympic squad, and it is a reward for the hard work and dedication of Tim Hazell, and all our coaches.
"To be in the final three is fantastic, and while I know that Clare and Sarah have also been terrific achievers in their sports, to win an award like this would just cap a wonderful year."
Tim, who is Archery GB's Paralympic Head Coach, said he was delighted for Dani, and will be keeping his fingers crossed for her at the Awards dinner.
"She's had another great year, and her achievements are proof of that," said Tim. "But it also a reward for Dani's single minded determination, her hard work, and her committment, and all of us connected with the GB Paralympic squad, and at Archery GB, are rooting for her."
The Awards Lunch takes place at The David Beckham Academy on November 3.
