What has happened to the Premier Events?

The Premier Events in their present form were introduced about 10 years ago.  The idea was to encourage organisers to put on Olympic rounds (head-to-heads).  Over time, the number of these rounds has increased and they are now established in the calendar.  In addition, the term Premier Event has been applied to more shoots and so it loses its exclusive status.

Therefore, from 2010, the Operations Committee will no longer award Premier Status to certain events, but simply welcome the shoots as normal events in the archery calendar.  This should in no way diminish the shoots, nor suggest that they are run in anything but the best manner, as befits shoots with World Record Status.
