GNAS operates a ranking system for Junior Archers, which is open to anyone to put their scores forward for. At present, it operates over the outdoor season, and covers all age groups, and the three main bow-types, Compound, Longbow, and Recurve.
To be included, you should submit your three best scores using the Ranking Form (which can be downloaded from the link below)
• Your three scores to be submitted, have to have been shot at Record Status shoots
• The rounds used should be over 12 dozen arrows (i.e. York/Bristol 1 - 4; FITA/Metric 1 - 4). FITA 900 and 720 rounds are not acceptable.
• You may shoot any 12-dozen round appropriate to your gender and GNAS age group or older at the time of shooting.
• The final ranking list is worked out using the GNAS Handicap tables. The handicap ratings of the three scores are added together, and the archer with the lowest total comes first. This means that, when you are deciding which scores to put in, you should choose the three that have the lowest handicap ratings. If in doubt, check with your club Records Officer.
• When the list is published, it contains everyone who sent in scores in six separate lists (Girls Compound, Girls Longbow, Girls Recurve, and the same for Boys). It also shows your GNAS and FITA age groups. So, you can see that you are ranked 11th overall, 8th FITA Cadet, and 5th Under 13.
• Submissions for ranking must be made on the appropriate form (available from the office, or the web site below); electronic submission is not permitted.
You should then send your completed form to the Chairman of the Junior Committee (Address Below). The deadline is usually the second weekend in October. Forms received later than that date may not be included.
