Message from Director Marketing & Development

There was an announcement in the recent edition of Archery UK about a survey (and prize draw).

I have recently taken over the role as Director and will be reviewing all activities, projects and partnerships over the next few months. As a result, I will not be proceeding with any new work (this includes the survey) before the review has taken place. I want to ensure that the Society is getting value for money and also that we don’t duplicate work.

The present focus is in forming partnerships, obtaining suppliers and supporting archery developments.  From those will come the need to consult with members through reference groups, surveys and the like – so the survey that was announced will follow later in the year.    Oh! Before I forget – yes, there will be a prize draw.

Director – Marketing & Development

Rules of Shooting – Change on Safety Grounds

The Operations Committee has agreed to an immediate change to the Rules of Shooting on safety grounds.  A new Rule 103 requires that for child protection purposes, 2 adults must be present when juniors are shooting with a concession concerning a parent supervising his/her own child(ren) on suitable archery grounds.  Rule 103 has been re-formatted to remove ambiguities.  The changes should make little difference in practice as 2 adults are required on many archery grounds already.  The changes now announced are worded slightly differently to those outlined in a recent edition of Archery UK magazine.

The Rules of Shooting may be found on the Documents page of this website or by clicking here.

Guidelines for Membership Cards

Due to the recent changes to membership cards for 2008/2009 some questions were received at the Office.   Linda Berry, Senior Officer Operations Office, has  compiled some information to help answer these FAQ's.
