Become a Coach
Coaching is essential to help others gain enjoyment and improved performance from archery. An effective coach will always be open to new ideas and continually strive to improve their individual skills and knowledge of the sport.
Archery GB offers a range of coaching qualifications designed to provide new and existing coaches with the skills and experiences to coach successfully.
How to find a coaching course
The first step to become a qualified coach is to enrol onto an Archery GB coaching course. Courses are organised locally by County Coaching Organisers (CCOs). To find out about courses taking place near you, along with the associated costs and dates please contact your County Coaching Organiser.
Contact details for your local County Coaching Organiser can be found here.
The coaching pathway
Archery GB currently delivers 1 leading award and 4 coaching qualifications which make up the coaching pathway below. Full details about these courses can be found on the menu bar to the right hand side.

For the perfect first step onto the coaching pathway the course you are most likely to take part in is the 'GNAS Level 1’ qualification. The course provides an introduction for archers with little experience or knowledge about coaching and is ideal to help you work with beginner archers.
By getting onto the coaching pathway, you have the opportunity to learn new skills and help others progress in the sport. You will also be able to advance to other coaching qualifications offered by Archery GB to constantly enhance your experience and knowledge.
Working to become UKCC endorsed
Our commitment is to develop and deliver four levels of UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) endorsed qualifications for coaching archery. This will enable coaches to gain nationally recognised qualifications and access courses which are designed and delivered to quality assured standards. Over 30 sports nationwide offer UKCC qualifications as the industry standard in sports coaching.
